What’s the difference between a farm stand and a farmers market?
A farm stand sits on the farm itself and sells only what that farm grows, usually with longer hours across the week. A farmers market gathers many vendors in one place once or twice a week. Stands are the better bet for same-day-picked produce; markets win on one-stop variety.
When are farm stands open in Maine?
Most Maine stands open between mid-May and Memorial Day and run through October, with some staying open later for fall crops like winter squash and pumpkins. Hours vary by farm — check the farm’s page for its pickup windows.
Can I use SNAP/EBT at farm stands?

Is farm stand produce more expensive than the grocery store?
